Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea treatment
The treatment for Chlamydia is a simple course of antibiotics, which is usually 4 tablets taken at the same time.
If you are pregnant or not able to take these tablets, you may be given a longer course of antibiotics. You do not have to pay for the treatment but it is important that you take all your tablets to get rid of the infection.
It is important not to get re-infected. To do this you should make sure:
- That your partner is treated.
- That you do not have sex (oral, vaginal or anal) until after both you and your partner have been treated.
If you have Gonorrhoea you will need different antibiotics, and to have a further test to check which anitbiotic will be best for you.
